Every Tuesday I will release Trendy Tuesday, where I pick my 5 favorite pieces, currently in the store. I will give details on the product, style tips, and why it made this weeks cut! I will mix pieces from different vendors, price points, & styles. This will give you an inside scoop on our new arrivals, some missed pieces and how to seamlessly incorporate Sloane & Ivy into your closet.

This week’s Tuesday Trends: Staying comfy & cozy

(shop all newest arrivals here)

Seeing as I am writing this on another snow day away from the store staring out to over a foot of snow in what used to be my backyard oasis; this week’s trend is how to stay comfy cozy while feeling and looking good!

Amy Sweater: I usually wait at least 2 weeks if not longer to take clothes off the rack and put right into my closet. I want you to get the first chance on all the new arrivals. But once in a while there are pieces I just can’t resist, (I am a lover of fashion afterall) and the Amy Sweater was my weakness. By now if you have followed my instagram, blog post, or vlogs you are well aware of my obsession for n.philanthropy.  My tops 3 reasons why I love n.philanthropy are: 1. They give back to LA children's hospital & animal shelters {one of which I rescued my first dog at} 2. They make everything in the USA and 3. Their price point is amazing without compromising quality of their product {seriously some of the softest cotton shirts!}. But back to the Amy Sweater. It is made out of an alpaca wool blend. Alpaca, I have learned, is one of the warmest fibers you can use and is cruelty free for animals. The color of the Amy sweater is hard to define, its a deep stone, with hues of lavender and grey, making it so unusual that I know you don’t already have this in your closet! It pairs perfectly with any of our DL1961 jeans, waxed Mara Pants, faux suede Touria Pants, and basically any bottoms you already have in your closet. This look will keep you nice and cozy but can also take you from the office to dinner or coffee to cocktails! Shop Amy Sweater Here!
Aspen Joggers- currently on sale and are the softest bottoms I own - it is a win/win for all. I know many of you think when will I actually use Cashmere joggers, well let me tell you once you’ve put these joggers on, you’ll never want to take them off. I can’t say these are “office” appropriate but does everything in your closet need to be worn to the office or a dinner? Why can’t you just have some of your favorite pieces for you! Wear these around the house or out running errands. Going away on a skiing holiday - pack these to sit fireside

Berlin Sweater- The duster is coming back into style & I am beyond excited. For me, a duster is a classic & staple in my closet but I know everyone doesn't  share my view point. Open cardigans to the floor ELONGATES your body-so don’t have to be afraid of them! The dusty rose hue infused with a dark cabernet wash is the perfect color palette to transition from winter to spring. The product material blend is lightweight but still cozy to bring you from the colder months to warmer. It is a must have, and I promise is a trend that will not fade.

Back Bay Pants - anti-wrinkle, slimming, and machine washable… do I dare say more? If you have seen our instagram post about our Back Bay pants, I apologize ahead of time as you will be reading a similar rant here on why I love this pants. I was surprised how much I love these pants. Bells & flares are just not my style,  I love the look on others, I just seem to always gravitate towards the straight legged pants. But these flares, oh my goodness, it rocked my perspective on flare pants. The flare starts mid calf really elongating your legs. I’m also not a fan of super tight fitting up top - we all have those areas on our body that bother us and that one is mine. Though when I put these pants on, I felt nothing but confidence & that is all I needed to solidify my love for these pants. I wear them more casually as you see paired with the Needham tank { seen styled in picture} and our new Soho jean jacket.  However, I have styled with with our silky Hudson tank tucked in the front with my clients blazer from home and it was a KILLER look! Inspired to wear the back bay pants in a more dressed up - style, I’ll be wearing them this weekend for my mom’s birthday celebration, with black pumps, my olive green Hudson cami and a black blazer that is a Sloane & Ivy “vintage piece”.

Marblehead Sweater - Last but not least, is the marblehead sweater. This sweater is the PERFECT transition sweater and perfect for someone who gets hot overheated from  indoor heating.  It features an open knit {very open knit} sleeve. Some have paired the sweater with a skin tight cami underneath or you can easily just wear your bra - the open knit isn’t see through in front. I love this sweater because it is truly an all year long piece {summer sweaters are an all time favorite of mine}. The Marblehead is an extremely versatile piece and can easily be integrated into your closet and will expand your options.
